Hardtimes

 Hello Friends,

This blog is my response to a task assigned to us by our Prof.Dr.DilipSir in the thinking activity of the Hardtimes by Charles Dickens. So read and enjoy.

In today's time, the most of the students face the hardtimes is that of exam time, that also every year, the time that is full of stress, panic, and even inspite of all the precautions, somtimes the exam time is really a challenging one. What if there were no exams? Infact, life itself is an exam, but that is not so much hard as the academic exams. Actually, it's the test of our will to study, to pursue our dreams, if it's that very easy anyone could have achieved it and there lies our true test, it's not easy, so that the one who is able to face the pains can only come out with true success. Just as the pressure creates a diamond, so in the same way, the pressures on us will bring out the diamond in us.

☆ Education
Education is an essential tool that imparts knowledge to improve one’s life. The process of Education comprises various steps depending upon the quality of Education. Education is a key process that plays a significant role in molding the ethics and culture of the society.

Education forms a distinct line of separation between man and other creatures, making man the smartest animal on Earth. It empowers and readies us to face the challenges of life more efficiently. Additionally, Education improves one’s skills, abilities, knowledge, attitude, and personality. Noteworthy, Education narrows down the options of employment, providing an excellent job platform to a highly educated person. Thus, all governments must promote and ensure the spread of Education.
Education highlights the value of patience, tolerance, and even helps people understand the tests of life. An educated person understands patience, hard work, and sacrifices to meet the ultimatum of life. It solves the problem of anger and hatred among people and fosters the values of tolerance, compromise, selfless deeds, and courage. To make Education possible and compulsory, educational awareness is essential but is only possible through analyzing and enlightenment. When people realize the need and significance of Education, can it be considered an ethical life necessity?
📚Education holds three basic types – Formal, non-Formal, and Informal Education.
🖊Formal Type: A Formal Education teaches an individual to learn academic skills, and this Education begins at the elementary level and continues until college. The process follows a set of rules and regulations for the completion of a formal degree.
🦋Informal Type: Informal Education uses no specific tools to understand learning. A person attains Informal Education though reading books, learning bicycle, playing chess, etc. Informal Education holds equal importance in life.
💐Non-Formal Type: Non-Formal Education uses awareness programs such as adult literacy and basic education programs to promote Education. It has no time table, syllabus, and age limit and can be adjustable.
🏕Gurukul was the ancient form of the Indian education system, where students used to learn by living with their gurus. Education is an essential tool that eliminates unemployment and poverty in the world. Moreover, it benefits the commercial scenario of the country. Therefore, a higher level of Education in the country holds a better job platform and opportunities.
However, the lower section of the country improves their lives with the help of Education, as uneducated people fall at a considerable disadvantage. The first step of Education is the ability to read and write. Most information is allotted through the form of writing. Hence, an individual must sharpen his writing skills, and its lack means missing out on important information.
Additionally, Education benefits people in various ways. It aids a person to make better decisions using knowledge and understanding, thus, increasing that person’s success rate. Subsequently, Education also plays the role of responsibility in providing a person with an enhanced lifestyle. It places diverse career opportunities that increase a person’s quality of life. Therefore, through Education, a person becomes literate, but not all literate people are educated.
Education helps in the innovation and development of technology, and the broader spread of Education elevates the spread of technology. Education has played a vital role in the event of computers, medicine, and war equipment. Thus, Education can be stated as a doorway to success. It builds a better life for people and unlocks numerous success doors. An educated person opens the splendor of multiple opportunities on the other side of the door.
The Right to Education Act, 2009, is an initial step towards Education to make it accessible and compulsory for children aged 6 to 14 years. There are numerous awareness programs to tell people about the importance of Education. As a small step towards Education, the government of India has launched multiple Education-based initiatives like Udaan, Saksham, Pragati, etc. accessible for children.
In conclusion, Education teaches and enhances skills and serves as a backbone in the nations’ developmental process. Thus, it helps one grow in every step of life.

☆  Marriage and Weddings
It's about life long companionship, to be together in all ups and downs, it's a bond of love, like a plant grows with the years, but needs to be maintained with proper water of love, sunlight of care, and that bond of love grows like a strong tree with it's roots deep in the ground so that no storm can shake it.

Meaning and Types:
Like family, marriage is another important social institution. Marriage and family are two aspects of the same social reality i.e. the bio-psychic and social instincts of man. Marriage is one of the most ancient, important, universal and indispensable social institution which has been in existence since the inception of human civilization.

Definition of Marriage:
Different scholars and sociologist have tried to define it. They differ from each other.

(1) According to Encyclopedia Britannica, “Marriage is a physical, legal and moral union between man and woman in complete community life for the establishment of a family.”
(2) According to Malinowski, “Marriage is a contract for the production and maintenance of children.”
(3) Edward Westermark in his famous book ‘History of human marriage’ defined, “Marriage is a relation of one or more men to one or more women which is recognized by customs or law and involves certain rights and duties both in case of parties entering into the union and in the case of children born of it.”
(4) According to H.M. Johnson, “Marriage is a stable relationship in which a man and a woman are socially permitted without loss of standing in community to have children.”
(5) According to Lowie, “Marriage is a relatively permanent bond between permissible mates.”
(6) According to Horton and Hunt, “Marriage is the approved social pattern whereby two or more persons establish a family.”
(7) According to Hoebel, “The complexes of social norms that define and Control the relations of a mated pair to each other their kinsmen, their offspring and their society at large.”
Thus from the above analysis it is concluded that marriage is both a biological, psychological, cultural and social affair. Marriage is a special type of relationship between permissible mates involving certain rights and obligations. That is why Lundberg is right when he opines that “Marriage consists of the rules and regulations which define the rights, duties and privileges of husband and wife with respect to each other.”

Characteristics of Marriage:
Marriage may have the following characteristics.
(1) Marriage is a universal social institution. It is found in almost all societies and at all stages of development.
(2) Marriage is a permanent bond between husband and wife. It is designed to fulfill the social, psychological, biological and religious aims.
(3) Marriage is a specific relationship between two individuals of opposite sex and based on mutual rights and obligations. Relationship is enduring.
(4) Marriage requires social approval. The relationship between men and women must have social approval. Without which marriage is not valid.
(5) Marriage establishes family. Family helps in providing facilities for the procreation and upbringing of children.
(6) Marriage creates mutual obligations between husband and wife. The couple fulfill their mutual obligations on the basis of customs or rules.
(7) Marriage is always associated with some civil and religious ceremony. This social and religious ceremony provides validity to marriage. Though modern marriage performed in courts still it requires certain religious or customary practices.
(8) Marriage regulates sex relationship according to prescribed customs and laws.

☆  Industrialism

Every technology follows a path of discovery, engineering, and transformation before becoming quotidian. Today digital technology has transformed much of our world, but if you look closely, you can already see the contours of its inevitable descent into the mundane. As digital technologies and applications mature, we’ll need to push new frontiers of discovery. This means we need to start preparing for a new era of innovation, one in which technologies such as genomics, materials science, and robotics rise to the fore. Just as we still use heavy industry but no longer say we live in the Industrial Era, in the future, we’ll still use digital technologies. They just won’t be the shiny new thing reshaping how business gets done.

The Digital Revolution
So, if we're reading this, we’re experiencing some of the wonders of the digital revolution right now. We’re enjoying the cloud, the Internet, and some kind of handy device that lets us access both. We can are able to read this on our phone also.
The move from analog electronic and mechanical devices to pervasive digital technology dramatically disrupted industries, especially global communications and energy. Electronics and information technology began to automate production and take supply chains global.
In today’s digital age, terms like the internet of things (IoT), industrial IoT (IIoT) and the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) are being bandied about by just about everyone. These terms, which not many understand, aim to underscore and capture the disruption and transformation that companies and industries are experiencing with the advent of newer technologies like artificial intelligence, data analytics, blockchain, 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality, quantum computing, robotics and automation.
Schaeffer, who has also written a book Industry X.0—Unlocking Value in Industrial Sectors, believes that digital is going to change the way companies operate, and will influence all functions like research and development (R&D), manufacturing, business support, human resources (HR) and finance. In the near future, companies will not sell a product or service but will be rewarded on outcomes that are based on transactions, according to Schaeffer.
According to Schaeffer, every industrial manufacturer must master at least six digital capabilities. First is an understanding of what software is all about. “Products are going to become increasingly software- and digital-enabled. Many of our manufacturers are mechanical engineers who don’t know much about software. It is a fundamental change for them," he points out.
The second capability is understanding analytics, which “is very critical. Our clients sit on data that they never use. They have implemented SAP but they never use the data", he adds. The third capability is what Accenture terms a “Unified PLM (product lifecycle management) strategy that involves integrating the product life cycle, software life cycle and experience life cycle. During digitization, hardware, products, shop floor machinery and other production assets will age more slowly than the software."
Agile manufacturing is the fourth capability that “encloses the loop between manufacturing and engineering," he added. It can be achieved by adopting industrial automation wherever possible to increase shop floor speed and flexibility, he said.
The fifth capability revolves around what Accenture calls “as-a-service" and “it’s really focused on the Cloud. So if you’re becoming a service company, it needs to be cloud- enabled," said Schaeffer.
Last, but not the least, the sixth capability is all about “ecosystems and open innovations". Clients cannot have all the capabilities internally; they need to partner with others, Schaeffer said. The first reason is that innovation does not always come from the inside of the company. The second reason is that consumer expectations, or enterprise expectations, change rapidly. “You don’t have the time to build the capability internally. You need to take it where it is and assemble it. So building an ecosystem is important. Many of our clients don’t know how to do this," he said.
There is no standard digital road map, he said, adding that it was “a lot about experimenting; it’s a lot about failing and when you fail that is a success because you have earned from it. Many engineering companies don’t like to fail, so they don’t like to experiment".

Finally, concluded Schaeffer, if the digital vision does not come from the leadership of a company, it will be “extremely difficult for the enterprise to transform itself. It has nothing to do with just digital, it is all about change management".

Marxist Criticism & Feminist Criticism

Hello Friends,  This blog is my response to the task assigned to us by our Prof. Dr.DilipSir on Marxist and Feminist Criticism. So, read, understand and enjoy. Happy Learning! MARXIST CRITICISM What Marxist critics do 1. They make a division between the 'overt' (manifest or surface) and 'covert' (latent or hidden) content of a literary work (much as psychoanalytic critics do) and then relate the covert subject matter of the literary work to basic Marxist themes, such as class struggle, or the progression of society through various historical stages, such as, the transition from feudalism to industrial capitalism. Thus, the conflicts in King Lear might be read as being 'really' about the conflict of class interest between the rising class (the bourgeoisie) and the falling class (the feudal overlords).  2. Another method used by Marxist critics is to relate the context of a work to the social-class status of the author. In such cases an assumption is made (which a...

Wide Sargasso Sea Novel by Jean Rhys

Hello Friends,  This blog is my response to the task assigned to us by our teacher YeshaMa'am on the novel Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. So, read, understand and enjoy. Happy Learning! "Our parrot was called Coco, a green parrot. He didn't talk very well, he could say Qui est la? Qui est la? And answer himself Che Coco, Che Coco. After Mr. Mason clipped his wings he grew very bad tempered. . . .    I opened my eyes, everybody was looking up and pointing at Coco on the glacis railings with his feathers alight. He made an effort to fly down but his clipped wings failed him and he fell screeching. He was all on fire." Antoinette's story begins when she is a young girl in early nineteenth- century Jamaica. The white daughter of ex-slave owners, she lives on a run-down plantation called Coulibri Estate. Five years have passed since her father, Mr. Cosway, reportedly drunk himself to death, his finances in ruins after the passage of the Emancipation Act of  1833 , whi...
